Atlas® Relocates Lab To Create “Center Of Excellence”
Linsengericht/Altenhasslau, Germany, July 2008 – Atlas Material Testing Technology, the leader in lightfastness and weatherfastness testing, is pleased to announce the formation of a weathering “Center of Excellence” at Atlas’ World Headquarters in Chicago. In support of this center of excellence, the current Atlas accelerated weathering laboratory in Miami, FL will be relocated to Chicago. Atlas’ reputation as an industry leader in accelerated testing services will now be complimented by having local support in test program development, on-site engineering for instrument enhancements and on-site technical service at the US manufacturing headquarters for Atlas instruments. Additionally, the increased laboratory footprint will provide much needed space for the continued growth in accelerated weathering test services.
Construction is on schedule on the new 4000 ft2 (375 m2) facility and is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter 2008. Atlas will continue to provide ISO 17025 accredited service in this new state-of-the-art laboratory. Xenon, metal halide, carbon-arc and fluorescent testing, along with the full array of evaluation services (Gloss, Color, Visual assessments, etc.) will be provided.
The transition from the current laboratory in Miami to the new lab in Chicago will be as seamless as possible for all clients. Atlas will contact all clients with active tests prior to the move to assess their needs and to ensure that their tests are not compromised. Atlas will send periodic updates to all clients as they get closer to the final move.
